Summer Kids Classes at Grants Pass Museum of Art

We’re having a fun summer of art here!

Advanced registration is strongly recommended most of these classes are on the verge of filling.Classes are limited in size and we don’t want to have to turn away a child.
All classes are $15 and include all the materials!

Fish Prints!

Tuesday, August 13

1 – 3 pm

In this class for 9-12 years old.
We will learn about the Japanese art of fish printing, called Gyotaku. We will use a variety of realistic rubber fish as we work in the process of printmaking. Together we will create one long mural, and each student will also make an individual print to bring home.

Draw from a Photo

Thursday, August 15

1 – 3 pm

Learn how to sketch, shade, and create a copy of any photograph. Bring your own photo, or choose from one of ours.

Watercolor

Tuesday, August 20

1 – 3 pm

We’ll explore watercolor for fun. How to arrange pieces for painting and how to sketch before applying color.

How to Draw Eyes class on 8/22 is full.

Pop-Up Cards

Learn a variety of ways to create pop-up cards. Kids will complete a variety of projects while trying out different styles.

Colored Pencils

1 – 3 pm

Make a colorful drawing. Learn how to blend colors, and create layers with colored pencils. Try out ways to color, then create a colorful drawing of your own.

  • Kids need to be checked in & out by an adult.
  • All kids need to be able to follow directions and be in a class for a two-hour period.
  • Minimum age for most classes is age 7. We do not offer classes for younger kids at this time.
  • All classes are $15, and include materials.
  • Advance registration is strongly recommended. We have limited space.
  • All class sign ups are considered final and refunds are not given. The Museum will give a full refund in the case of a class being cancelled. If your kiddo is not able to make it please let us know.
