Sue Bennett is a classically trained artist who paints to express beauty. “My intent is to capture the heart of the subject and I get completely caught up in it.” Sue taught art for many years in classes and workshops in several states and Canada. Her paintings have been included in over 45 exhibits around the nation. She works most frequently in transparent watercolor, however she also enjoys opaque watermedia and pastel and has recently returned to oils.

Steve Bennett started painting and drawing when he was in kindergarten. He quit art that same year. He did enjoy art via the view finder of his camera. After many years of photography, Sue encouraged him to join her in painting. He took the chance. Steve enjoys drawing and painting outdoors subject matter the best. He mostly paints with pastels and watercolor. “It is fun to have a new area of life unfold for me each day.” When Steve is not painting, Sue and Steve have an art seminar business that takes them and other artists to many beautiful places in the world to paint, and photograph.

“Art has kept me enthralled for 40 years. I studied for 10 years in college classes and national workshops. Drawing led to basic design, which led to oil painting, which led to printmaking, which led to watercolor, and back to oil. Along the way I taught classes and organized workshops across the U.S. and Europe for 25 years; art opened up the world for me. My paintings are portrayed with simplicity of shape and rich color. I get very involved with the medium, and paint to express beauty, mood and heart—to take the viewer to a place of refreshment. I am emotionally caught up from start to finish and like it best when I am slightly surprised by the end result.” ~ Sue Bennett
