SOAR Welcomes Judy Elliott to the Lifestyle Artists Directory!

Dragonflies and Water Lilies, handpainted silk scarf by Judy Elliott

Dragonflies and Water Lilies, handpainted silk scarf by Judy Elliott

The Southern Oregon Artists Resource is delighted to welcome artist Judy Elliott to both the Visual Artists and Lifestyle Artists Directories. Here’s what she tells about herself and her work:

Growing up in Hawaii, I absorbed the tastes and cultures of the Islands.  My father, a photographer, also blessed me with an artistic eye for exotic colors and shapes.  Early on I developed an interest in Japanese fashion and design, particularly the Kimono and Happi (pronounced “Hoppi”) Coat, often worn by me while dancing as a child.
In 1991 I brought the above mentioned passions to Oregon and I can be found at select art venues throughout the state presenting my unique designs and expressions in cotton Japanese and Hawaiian print Happi Coats, Kimonos, and recently, by popular demand, my mid length kimonos, often worn as a robe. Look for me under the name Dragonfly Designs West.
About a year ago, wanting to expand on the skills acquired while attending Interior Design school in Hawaii, I began to offer my hand-painted silk scarves and wall hangings.  I’m often commissioned to create custom pieces to wear or decorate the home or office.
Please stop by at one of my shows, introduce yourself, and experience first hand one of my many delightful pieces.  In the meantime, you can visit my website to view some of my work and/or my scheduled appearances on the Events section.

Judy has also given us permission to syndicate the Events and Updates sections of her blog, which you can find under the Artist Posts menu beneath our header image, so you can read her posts when browsing the community stream of content contributed here by the art community of southern Oregon. Please give Judy a show of support by visiting her website and making contact! You can find her links in her new listing here:
