SOAR Proudly Welcomes Sue Bennett!

French Hamlet, by Sue Bennett

French Hamlet, by Sue Bennett

The Southern Oregon Artists Resource is delighted to welcome Sue Bennett to the Visual and Teaching Artists Directories!

Bennett’s paintings are portrayed with simplicity of shape and rich colors.  While making a painting Bennett gets very involved with the medium.   ”I paint in both watercolor and oil to express beauty, mood and heart to take the viewer to a place of peace.   I want to be emotionally caught up in the subject from start to finish and like it best when I am slightly surprised by the end result.”

Sue’s work is the result of a lifetime of education, experience and experimentation. ”I loved to draw from the time I remember.  I spent ten years studying art in College classes and National Workshops.  Drawing led to basic Design which led to Oil painting which led to Print making which led to Watercolor which has taken me back again to Oil painting.  Some instructors of special help include Millard Sheets, Bruce Butte and Frank Webb, Richard McKinley.”
