The stage is the inspiration for this Rogue Gallery staff exhibit. The artists approached the theme using the historical works of Shakespeare, classical music, modern dramatic plays, and the experience of attending the theater. Rogue Gallery’s staff includes Rachel Barrett (Office Administrator, Database Technician & Graphic Artist) Ashley Clasby (Education & Events Manager) Kim Hearon (Executive Director) & Anna Hinkle (Program Assistant).

The Berryman Gallery is located upstairs at the Crateria Theater and can be accessed before performances or during Craterian office hours.

Rogue Gallery New Exhibit and Reception

Main Gallery exhibit:

Doug AndersonStories From Around the Ring
July 27-September 7, 2018

Reception Date: August 17, 2018

The exhibit of acrylic paintings and drawings by Doug Anderson are focused on the theme of “Stories From Around the Ring” and depict provocative and sometimes humorous imagery of circus-like environments to expose the absurdity in our lives. The artist explains the exhibits as “this sometimes overtly comical look at human behavior exposes the absurdity in our lives as we search for things we never seem to find. The open-ended narratives suggested in the imagery allow viewers to connect the stories to their own experiences.”

Doug Anderson Self Motivation

Doug Anderson was born and raised in a small suburban town outside of Philadelphia, PA. He received a BFA from the University of Arizona in Tucson and an MFA from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Mr. Anderson taught at Eastern Oregon University and State University of New York at Geneseo. He currently teaches painting and drawing at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. His paintings and drawings have been exhibited widely across the United States.
