November 12, 13, & 14 Fri, Sat, & Sun 10-4
If you are an artist and want to explore working with wood, this class is a great introduction to wood, its properties, and its uses, as well as the tools used to work it. In this workshop, students will create a small bench to learn the use of hand tools, wood consideration, finishing techniques, principles of machine use, safety, joinery, and maintenance of tools. This class will be held off-site in the private studio of fine art furniture-maker Nick Clark, and will allow for a intimate experience with lots of one-on-one attention and instruction by limiting the number of students.
Instructor: Nick Clark has been creating with wood for more than 25 years. Nick began as a Master Joiner in Sheffield, England. He then attended the prestigious two-year fine woodworking program at The College of the Redwoods. Nick Clark Design was founded in 1998 as a vehicle for creating distinctive, contemporary cabinetry and fine furniture.
