One Sky, One World Kite FlyOctober 7th & 8thOne Sky, One World promotes annual activities in concurrence with events in hundreds of locations around the World on the Second Sunday of Every October utilizing the multi-cultural symbol of the kite and the ocean of air that we all share. People are made aware of the kite’s contribution to cultural history, the arts and sciences through recognition and enjoyment of the kite, it’s many manifestations and the activity of kite flying as expressed in many nations and regions throughout recorded history. The art and entertainment activities associated with the One Sky One World event, leads to community enjoyment, understanding, friendship between people, environmental awareness and promoting world peace. Peninsula Arts Association Fall ShowOctober 7th-9thThe fall show includes a People’s Choice award, plus runners up, chosen by show visitors who are invited to vote for their favorite pieces as they tour the exhibits. Winners are announced at the Artists’ Reception, held on the last day of the show. The public (and all PAA artists) are invited to the awards ceremony, and free refreshments are provided.
The Spring, Summer, and Fall exhibits are held in the historic Long Beach Depot Building…with its natural light and high ceilings the venue provides the show with an extra touch of oomph! The PAA office, just steps away, is the location for Inspired Creations…the perfect combo! Address: 3rd North & Pacific, Long Beach, Washington, just north of the Dennis Company). Cranberrian FairOctober 14th & 15thA celebration of local harvest including all things cranberry will take place on the Long Beach Peninsula, centered around the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum. Foods, crafters, vendors, and more will showcase the area’s rich heritage during the Annual Cranberrian Fair.
Collectible buttons are $5 each and cover admission to all events at the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum. The Cranberry Museum is free.
As part of Cranberrian Fair activities, Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum will host a variety of vendors, offering handmade items such as pottery, jewelry, hand turned wooden bowls, paintings, cranberry vine baskets, and more. Fair entrance includes full admission to the Museum’s exhibitions and the 1889 narrow gauge passenger car NAHCOTTA. Click here for more information! |
