CALL TO ARTISTS
The Rogue Gallery & Art Center is proud to host the Third Rogue Valley Biennial, February 20 – April 10, 2015. We invite both emerging and established artists to submit up to three innovative pieces to be juried for this exhibit. The 2015 Rogue Valley Biennial Exhibition will feature work that presents interpretations of our world today or a commentary on contemporary issues. This may include artist’s expression of current events, art movements, or political issues. December 2–December 20, 2014 Reception: Friday, December 19, 5–8pm Eugene Bennett was a founding member of the Rogue Gallery & Art Center, and a lifetime supporter of the gallery. The exhibit is comprised of some of Bennett’s personal favorites of his own work, which he kept in his private collection. Proceeds from the sale of artwork in this exhibit will go to the Rogue Gallery & Art Center Endowment and the Oregon Community Foundation. Medford Third Friday ArtWalk AnnouncementsThe Rogue Gallery celebrates the season for Downtown Medford’s Third Friday Artwalk. December 19, 5:00 – 8:00pm
Wine, sparkling cider, Rogue Creamery cheese, and Harry and David snacks will be served.
Live music will be performed by Second Wind. “Second Wind, a quartet made up of a second tenor, a second alto, a second soprano and a second bass from the Siskiyou Singers, came together last summer in Ashland to make sweet-sounding music together. We looked for voices we thought sounded good with our own and people we wanted to spend time with. We like the mix and hope you do too” states Second Wind member James Martin.
Exhibit in Main Gallery The Sky is the Limit: 2014 Members’ Exhibit November 21 – December 19, 2014
The Rogue Gallery & Art Center exhibits the art of member artists inspired by the expression the sky is the limit. This popular phrase captures the idea that there be no limit to the artist in ambition, aspirations, or possibilities for their artistic expression. Over 60 artists participate in this non-juried exhibit. Artwork includes watercolors, acrylic, and oil paintings as well as sculptures and pastel drawings. Artists are encouraged to create work on the theme.
Exhibit in Community Gallery Works in Oil by Eugene Bennett December 2 – 20, 2014
A selection of Eugene Bennett oil paintings and oil dry brush drawings are exhibited. Mr. Bennett’s work has been displayed at the Brooklyn Museum, New York City’s Museum of Modern Art, and the San Francisco Museum of Art. He was a founding member of the Rogue Gallery. Proceeds from the sale of Eugene Bennett artwork will go to the Rogue Gallery & Art Center Endowment and the Oregon Community Foundation.
The Rogue Gallery & Art Center is a non-profit community art center, founded in 1960 to promote and support the arts in the Rogue Valley. The center exhibits a wide range of artistic styles and mediums from local and national artists. Programming includes art educational opportunities for children and adults.
