New Exhibits at Rogue Gallery & Art Center for 2017
A reception for all exhibits listed below will be held on Friday, January 20, 5:00 – 8:00 pm. Wine from Grizzly Peak Winery, beer and hors d’oeuvres from Standing Stone Brewing Company, Rogue Creamery cheese, and Harry and David snacks will be served.

Southern Oregon artists Miles Frode, David Masters, and Allen Smith explore the rational, spiritual, and emotional aspects of the human experience in large scale abstract artwork. Exhibit includes paintings in acrylic and oil, collages, and assemblages.
Men at (Art) Work includes three Northwest artists. All three are male artists in their early thirties who are passionate in their pursuit of creating art. Miles Frode has been an artist since childhood. He was the winner of the Rogue Gallery’s 2014 Biennial. “Jurors Choice”. He resides in Talent, Oregon. Working intuitively, Miles work is bold, expressionistic, and active. David Masters received a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago, IL and a MFA from Kent State University, Kent, OH. He has exhibited throughout the Unites States and resides in Medford, Oregon. David’s assemblages and paintings invite the viewer to experience the work from various angles seeing new images and prespectives. Allen Smith received a BFA from Abilene Christian University and a MA in teaching from Southern Oregon University. He is an art teacher with Logos Charter School. He has exhibited throughout the Northwest and resides in Medford, Oregon. Allen’s paintings are deeply contemplative and introspective.

THE ART IN THE LETTER: Calligraphy by Diane Amarotico and Cynthia Mish

The Art in the Letter exhibit celebrates the art form of Calligraphy. Artists Diane Amarotico and Cynthia Mish are accomplished artists in the medium of Calligraphy. Each artist creates letters and numbers that transcend the function of just a symbol. Letters, words, numbers, and phrases are elevated and transformed to beautiful artistic expression. Cynthia Mish trained at Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles. She taught calligraphy in several colleges in Los Angeles and at Southern Oregon University. Her calligraphy has been published in Paris, California and Oregon. Diane Amarotico studied calligraphy and book binding at the Roehampton Institute in London trained under Friedrich Neugebauer in Salzburg, Austria. Her work has been shown and published in American as well as Europe. Both artists reside in Ashland, Oregon.

New Work from Rogue Gallery Members

The Rogue Gallery & Art Center presents new artwork in our Members’ Gallery. Three times a year Rogue Gallery members submit work to be juried for exhibit in the Members’ Gallery. Over 90 works of art by 37 artists are exhibited in this gallery space. Artwork includes watercolor, acrylic, and oil paintings, pastels, photography, and collage.
