New Exhibits at Rogue Gallery : "Joy of Sailing" painting by Judy Ommen

“Joy of Sailing” painting by Judy Ommen

Judith Ghetti Ommen recently moved to the Rogue Valley from Georgetown, Texas. She has been active in the arts community throughout her life. She holds a MFA in painting, taught art history at Marquette University in Milwaukee, has served on numerous arts councils, and has exhibited her work throughout the United States. Her work includes Asian inspired landscapes and playful teapot themed works suggestive of a Chinese of tea ceremony. Incorporating Chinese brush painting, collage, pastels, and drawing in her mixed media works, she creates images of rich textures and strong designs. Her study of Oriental Brush techniques deeply influenced her style and approach to painting. While her paintings are unique interpretations of Asian art, they remain respectful to this traditional art form.
