See our website (www.artdujourgallery.com ) for entry form and rules, or stop by the gallery during our regular open hours. As in the past our People’s Choice art contests are dependent on the number of participants and the gallery reserves to right to cancel the exhibit with full refund if turnout is minimal.

Featured Artists Marilyn Zupan and Susan Paul Williams

Marilyn Zupan’s deep love for England’s gentle country landscapes and rustic stone homes and bridges provides the setting for our extended featured wall display.. Having taught calligraphy in the Rogue Valley for more than 20 years, Marilyn began taking watercolor classes in 2009 and has been painting ever since. In 2011 Marilyn was juried into the Watercolor Society of Oregon.

Potter Susan Paul Williams writes about her thrill of creating forms from a lump of clay, making her feel connected to the earth and the cycles of life. After apprenticing for Georgi Tudzarvo, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 1982 she began creating pottery from a studio in Albany, California. Now retired in Grants Pass since 2011, Susan’s work lives on in the hands of a son, and two of her husband Michael’s photo students. She now displays her work at Gallery One in Grants Pass and Art du Jour in Medford.

Guest Artist Marianne Nielsen

With a passion for watercolor, Marianne Nielsen say it is her favorite media because of its versatility regarding techniques and textures. While enjoying all styles and subjects, her inspiration comes from all things in nature, especially animals and flowers.

After 5 years learning from the late Marshal McDaniels, he literally changed the way she looks at everyday things like clouds, trees, water and life.   Soon after she became a watercolor instructor herself with 6 to 8 students, which has since grown to 4 weekly classes with more than 50 students.  Since 2007, many of her students have also gone on to become teachers themselves as well as having their work in local galleries.

Marianne is a former Art du Jour member and active participant with the Watercolor Society of Oregon.  She also gives workshops in Grants Pass and has shown and sold artwork at 7 Feathers Hotel and Casino Resort. Currently a member of the Grants Pass Museum of Art, she has also been showing work at Gallery One in Grants Pass and will be their featured artist in July.

Marianne’s website is: www.nielsenwatercolors.com.
