“Legacy,” First Annual Southern Oregon Historical Society Benefit Show: Dec 1-31, Artists Reception Dec 17 from 5-8pm

The Southern Oregon Historical Society invites you to a festive reception for “Legacy,” our first Annual Benefit Art Show & Sale, presented in cooperation with Stefan Baumann of The Grand View and Hannah West of the Southern Oregon Artists Resource.

This event, at the heart of a month-long series of historically related events that will highlight the establishment of Southern Oregon Historical Society, features artists whose work… celebrates the diverse and rich history of the southern region of Oregon with portrayals of the landmarks, landscapes, buildings and people that represent our treasured past.

Join us for an Artists Reception on December 17 from 5-8 pm, coinciding with Medford’s Third Friday Art Walk.
Juror Stefan Baumann, artist and host of the PBS show “The Grand View: America’s National Parks Through the Eyes of an Artist,” will recognize those artists whose work is of exceptional quality and historical significance and announce the artist selected for an individual show at the History Center during January 2011.

Sales of the diverse array of art we expect to see will benefit the Southern Oregon Historical Society. Pieces on display at the History Center will be available for purchase beginning December 1, and will remain for the duration of the exhibit. We will also conduct a silent auction.
