Humans Being II is an exhibit that focuses on the experience of disability as explored through contemporary art. Open to all genders above the age of 18, we are seeking work in any of the following media: painting, drawing, sculpture, fiber, design, photography, installation, wearable art, artist’s books, graphic novel drawings, adaptive devices, short films, animations and videos.

What does it mean to “know something” in the body? What are the implications when our hair stands on end in fear, when we feel a rush of adrenalin, or just feel truth in our gut? The relationship between the mind and body has fascinated humankind for centuries. Research in the arenas of science, psychology, the arts, religion, and spirituality raises questions about this connection and how it impacts our lives. Does what we think affect our physical health? Or vice versa? Does spiritual or mental illness affect the body?
Artists of all genders are invited to explore these and any other facets of this endlessly fascinating area of inquiry with works in all media
