The focal piece in this exhibit is “A Moment of Reflection”, her most recent gallery type work which was accepted last summer for the Oil Painters of America’s Western Regional Exhibition in Boulder Colorado. About this painting Sheri writes, “I hoped to capture her momentary pause as she reflected. This girl seemed deep in thought as she twirled her long curls with her fingers. Only she knows what she was pondering. ” In our hurried lives where we are rapidly moving from one thing to the next and the next, juggling balls, answering calls and checking for what is next on the to-do list. More than ever, we need times of quiet… no expectation, just a time to rest, find peace and inspiration in simpler things.

Just a few minutes in the cool of the early morning on the porch, awaiting the sunrise can fill your soul. The chorus of birds in the trees seems to crescendo in anticipation of the sunrise marking the new day. So it is also in moments in our day when we observe life and the lives around us taking place… a conversation with a friend… time with a loved one or even a treasured pet.

Much of my work is contemplative and along this theme I will choose the work for this exhibit, in hopes you, the viewer will find joy and inspiration in the works.”
