Eva Thiemann Announces Three Art Exhibits
Artist Eva Thiemann is best known for her stunning oil paintings of Alaskan bears set in rich, abstract landscapes. Thiemann holds a degree from the Academie of Art and a Biology degree from the University of Riga, Latvia. “When I came to Alaska from Latvia in 1997 I was overwhelmed by its beauty; I was able to observe Alaska’s magnificent brown bears, and painting them with Alaskan scenery became my passion. In 2003 I came to Applegate, Oregon.”
Though Alaskan Brown bears have been her mainstay for many years, more recently Eva began painting Great Gray Owls as well, to a very warm reception. Of her owl paintings, Thiemann says, “I started painting Great Grey Owls after observing these rare birds and their nests around Howard Prairie. My first owls were exhibited at the Mountain Bird Festival in Ashland few years ago.” (Editor’s Note: The first annual event was in 2014.) This month Eva Thiemann announces three art exhibits featuring her work. Please visit Eva’s listing at www.soartists.com for web links to see more of her work and contact info.
Art Presence Art Center
Eva is showing two paintings of bears and one of an owl at Art Presence Art Center in Jacksonville, Oregon, where she is a member. Part of the gallery’s “The Road to Adventure: Journeys and Experiences in Travel” exhibit, Eva’s show is now underway and continues through April 24, 2016. Art Presence Art Center is located at 206 North 5th Street in Jacksonville. The gallery is open every Friday–Sunday from 11am to 5pm.
PUSH Gallery
A show of Thiemann’s paintings of bears is underway at PUSH Gallery, 274 4th Street in Ashland, Oregon. The gallery is open every Tuesday through Saturday from 11am to 5pm. Eva tells us PUSH is not strict with dates, and her paintings will be on display until sometime in May or June.
Applegate Library
Those for whom the Applegate Library is more convenient might consider viewing more of Thiemann’s paintings of bears at the Applegate Public Library. The library is located at 18484 North Applegate Road in Applegate, Oregon 97527 and is open on Tuesdays from 2–6pm, Wednesdays from 10am–2pm, Fridays from 2–6pm, and Saturdays from 10am–2pm. Eva’s paintings will remain on exhibit until mid-May.
