December Third Friday will be amazing at Art du Jour! Join us on Dec. 20, from 5 to 8 p.m. at 213 E. Main St., Medford, across from Vogel Park. View our holiday window, then come inside for gift items such as hand painted scarves, one of a kind canes, jewelry, denim handbags and hand-made holiday cards.
Georganna Happel’s artwork will be featured in the exhibit entitled “A Closer Look.” Happel doesn’t use one approach or style in her artwork as she is “having fun asking questions and enjoying the adventure.” She is very inquisitive and inventive with her techniques. In the picture “Tarahumara Dwellings” she poured paint, mixed colors with copper and iridescent paints, and masked out the whites. In the process of painting “Copper Rose”, the background morphed from the dirt in the photo to take on a more ominous, stormy cloud appearance. The rose assumed a sense of timelessness for Happel. Meet the artist and feel free to ask her questions during the Third Friday event.
