Compositional Figure Painting Workshop with Sean Forester

Sarah F. Burns is working with Ashland Art Center to bring Sean Forester to Ashland in May to present an awesome intensive Compositional Figure Painting workshop.
TWO LIVE models – playing Ophelia and Hamlet – you can work in grisaille or use the Zorn palette
We’ll look to master paintings of the 19th century for guidance in creating great modern compositions.
Sean is both a very excellent painter and an art historian and humanities lecturer.  He and Andrew Ameral created and run the Golden Gate Atelier in San Francisco.
Sean has a lot of great stuff planned for this workshop, which includes a book he’s written about composition.
And even if you don’t work in a strict classical style (who does?) – the principles in this workshop will carry over for anyone who works with the figure.
May 15 – 18
10:00 am – 4:00 pm at the Ashland Art Center
Cost – $330 AAC member, $380 general
