Sometimes spontaneous, sometimes as a healing process, but always evolving. I accept and embrace the journey of change. Latest post from the Blog of Artist Brenda Mills Brannan.
Well, hello there, and welcome to www.bmillsb.com! You may have noticed that my website was inactive for a while. That’s because my husband and I moved and built a new home in Jacksonville, Oregon. However, once we settled in to our new space I decided it was time to re-establish my online presence. I found a local web designer to work with and I’m pleased with the new website she made for me.
To dive into the southern Oregon art community, I joined Art Presence Art Center, a local non-profit gallery here in Jacksonville. It’s been great getting to know the artists and to show my work in a completely new region. The gallery is located at 206 North 5th Street, so if you’re in the area please come by!
I hope you’ve enjoyed a look at the gallery of my work. My style has been changing from the flowing yet realistic style many know me for into a more free form approach. The heavily abstract element has been so liberating after a career of fine detail! Yet it is a delight to return to painting a bird after creating a thoroughly abstract background. The abstract is the playground, and the birds love to play there. It feels good to be here at this stage of my artistic journey through life.
Let’s stay in touch!
My new site has a handy tool to make sharing easier for you. I’d be honored if you use it to share your favorite images of my art, information pages or blog posts on your favorite social site.
Please subscribe to my blog to receive my updates in your email inbox. I am excited to keep painting new works, so you don’t have to worry about me flooding you with emails! But I do want to share my new paintings with you as I complete them. And I’d be grateful for the opportunity to share announcements of new shows and any other earth-shaking news that arises.
If you have any questions about my work or where it can be seen next, please contact me and I will reply as soon as I can.
Thanks again for visiting my new website, www.bmillsb.com!
