The exhibition Material Witness seeks to broadly represent work defining our time. Organized by the Georgia chapter of the Women’s Caucus for Art in collaboration with Agnes Scott College the exhibit will present a review of our times as expressed by women artists across the United States. All media is encouraged.
Scottsdale North Indian Bend Wash Water Treatment Facility Temporary Art Project

Scottsdale Public Art is accepting qualifications from artists for a temporary public art opportunity. The selected artist(s) will create a temporary art installation at the site of the City of Scottsdale Water Resources Department’s North Indian Bend Wash water treatment facility. The target date to install the temporary project is late spring/early summer. The temporary nature of the art could be extended for several months, depending on the materials and quality of the installation and any maintenance needs for the artwork.

Artists with experience in environmental or land art will be most competitive. Applicants must have demonstrated experience with temporary installations located outdoors. Shortlisted artists will be invited for an in-depth site visit to the water treatment facility to explore the site, learn the issues related to the site, and understand the surrounding environment and community.

City of Seattle: Landsburg Park

The Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs, in partnership with Seattle Public Utilities, seeks to commission an artist or artist team to create a unique artwork for Landsburg Park as part of the Landsburg Facilities and Chlorination Project at 28700 Southeast 252nd Place in Ravensdale, Washington. The artwork will recognize and honor the original residents of the area, and should be reflective of the Coast Salish cultures, especially tribal nations, that have a historic connection to this territory. The call is open to established professional artists residing in British Columbia, Oregon and Washington state and who are eligible to work in the United States. Applications close 11 p.m., Wednesday, January 16, 2013 (Pacific Standard Time).

Nude Nite, in its 13th year is the largest nude art show in the country. The show is held annually in Orlando/Tampa. Each show is treated separately so artists may apply to both. Genre’s represented range from sculpture, mixed media, metal, oil, acrylic, watercolor, digital, photography, glass, woodcraft, found object and film.

Seattle City Light Denny Substation Site: Performance & Temporary Artworks

The Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs, in partnership with Seattle City Light (SCL), is seeking a multi-disciplinary art curator, curator team or arts professionals with established curatorial experience to develop, manage and coordinate temporary arts programming at the future site of Seattle City Light’s Denny Substation in the South Lake Union neighborhood. Installations will start in November 2013 and last up to 18 months at the future facility. The call is open to established professional curators residing in Washington or Oregon. Applications are due 11 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013 (Pacific Standard Time).
