Everyone who enters is eligible for the People’s Choice Prize. A $2,500 cash grant, a trip to NYC during the New York Photo Festival in May 2012, a week in Paris – the birthplace of photography, airfare to New York and Paris, and a feature on the Artists Wanted website will be granted to the photographer whose portfolio garners the highest number of public votes.
Get your photography reviewed by an esteemed panel of jurors including Natasha Egan, Director of the Museum of Contemporary Photography; Stephen Walker, Photo Director of NYLON Magazine; Michael Shulman, Director of Publishing, Broadcast & Film at Magnum Photos; Conor Risch, Senior Editor of PDN Magazine; and award-winning photo editor Susanne Miklas. The Grand Prize and Category Award Photographers will be determined by the jurors.
Show your work in the gallery of one of the most respected organizations in photography. Founded in 1952 by a group of respected figures in the industry, including Ansel Adams, Dorothea Lange and Barbara Morgan, Aperture Foundation has been dedicated to promoting photography for over half a century. Aperture’s list of artists includes: Diane Arbus, Chuck Close, Nan Goldin, Stephen Shore, and Sally Mann, to name a few. If selected, your images will also be shown across the streets of NYC with a vivid high-powered projection system. Your work will be seen by tens of thousands in the most compelling way possible, larger than life and unforgettable.
