A regional juried art show of work from Oregon.

Open to Oregon artists working with clay.

Exhibit Dates: October 30 – December 23, 2015

Entry Fee: Non-refundable $30 fee for non-members and $25 for members for 1–3 Artwork entries. (Checks payable to UVAA)

Juror Heidi Preuss Grew

Heidi Preuss Grew is a ceramic artist who looks to the everyday for inspiration for her works, from moments within conversations to proverbs to characters encountered when reading novels. She then transform these moments through combining real and fictional worlds, as well as animal characteristics and human characteristics, to unveil the vulnerability inherit in the human condition.
Preuss-Grew exhibits nationally and internationally in solo and group exhibitions; her work is a part of permanent collections throughout the world. Her solo and two-person exhibitions include:

    • The Hallie Ford Museum
    • Port Angeles Fine Arts Center
    • Viterbo University
    • NCECA Juried Show in the United States
    • Zentrum fur Keramik, Keramik-Museum Rheinsberg
    • Forum fur Zeitgenosische Keramik in Germany
    • Temple Gallery Zuisho-ji Meguro in Japan
    • International Gallery of Ceramic Art in the Czech Republic.

CRITERIA

Rules of Entry:

• Eligibility: Ceramic artists may submit up to (3) entries in all themes, genres, types of clay, and firing methods; both functional and non-functional ceramic works are eligible. Please see detailed prospectus for Rethinking Ceramics at the CaFE website. All work must be display-ready upon arrival.
• UVAA commission rates: 30% for UVAA members and 40% for non-members.
• Entries must be original works of art and entirely created by the entrant. No work will be accepted into this show which is in violation of any copyright. Artwork must have been completed within the last three years. Work must not have been previously exhibited at UVAA.
• Entry Fees: Members: Non-refundable $25 fee for 1-3 entries. Non-members: Non- refundable $30 fee for 1-3 entries.

Shipping and Delivery of Accepted Artworks:

Art Center hours are Tuesday through Friday, 10am – 4pm and Saturday 10am – 2pm.
Work may be hand-delivered or shipped, to be received at UVAA between October 20th and October 26th. Artwork will be the responsibility of the artist until it is received by UVAA. Each artist will be responsible for shipping costs to and from UVAA. Complete instructions will be included with acceptance letter. UVAA will insure each accepted work for 60% of its value from the time of arrival at UVAA until it is released to the shipping agent.
