The Rogue Gallery & Art Center (RGAC) is hiring artist educators! If you are an inspirational art teacher who enjoys working with youth- we’d love to have you join our expanding team of exceptional art teachers!!
We are accepting resumes now as we will have several teaching opportunities for this fall in the Rogue Studio.
We have openings for:
After School Art Studio (Wednesdays, October 9, 16, 23, 30, Nov. 6, 13 4:00 – 6:00PM) This is a foundational art class for ages 7-12. Focus is typically on basic skills in drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, mixed-media, puppetry, collage, bookmaking, etc. using high quality materials (RGAC provides) and with references to historic and contemporary artists and art styles/ movements.
Assistant for Elementary Arts Outreach Program- year-round program impacting 7 fifth grades with monthly art lessons in the classroom and field trips to RGAC- we can talk more, if this peaks your interest.
Studio Teacher for Free Family Saturdays – Every second Saturday, September 14, Oct.12, Nov. 9, Dec. 14, noon – 2:00PM
Drop In & Draw (non-school Mondays: Oct. 7, Nov. 11 from 9AM – noon, ages 6-12)
We are preparing for summer art camps in the Rogue Studio and there are a few things you might have lying around that we would help us stock up our art supplies stash. For our upcoming summer art camps, we’d love it if you are willing to please save some landfill space, check your recycling, and clear out any unused art supplies from your studios by collecting and donating the following supplies to help us cross them off our wish list:
Wooden blocks or wood scraps (interesting shapes or cut-outs, smaller than 5-6” in any direction)
Discarded tinker toys or other small wooden objects (for found object sculpture)
Bottle caps
Paper towel tubes
Watercolor paper
Interestingly- shaped plastic packaging
Empty small gift boxes
45 records or scratched CD’s
Corks
Yarn, string or ribbon
Beads (wooden, glass, plastic…)
Broken toys or doll parts
Broken jewelry
other small found objects that are kid- friendly
Stamps
Stickers
Feathers
Artist and art books (for the Studio library)
