Call for Art from Woman Made Gallery, Chicago

This is a call for art open to ALL artists for “Oil and Water” juried by Sarah Krepp. The entry due date is August 27, 2014.

Woman Made Gallery membership is not required in order to enter into juried shows or exhibit at WMG. You do not have to log in to submit your entry Online – and creating your online entry in one session is the best way to submit.

Artists may submit up to three works by mail with jpgs and application on a CD or online as digital files. Please include one detail per work only if necessary, as with book art or three-dimensional works or if areas in two-dimensional work need to be clarified. Accepted artwork must not exceed 72″ horizontally or have been previously shown at WMG.

The entry fee for juried exhibitions is $30 for up to three works including details. Artists who experience financial hardship may be exempt from paying the entry fee; just send us an email message about that: [email protected] A statement related to the theme is required. Exhibition Dates: Nov. 14 – Dec. 21, 2014

Invitation to all artists to submit original work in all painting media: oil, acrylic, water color, gouache, encaustic, with the addition of mixed media if desired, on canvas, wood, paper or any other 2D or 3D surface.

Entries may be mailed with jpgs on a CD or submit your entry with digital files (jpgs) online. Entry Fee: $30 for images of up to 3 works.

Juror: Sarah Krepp

With an MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Sarah Krepp has been a noted Chicago artist for more than 25 years. She has shown nationally and internationally, and her work is included in many corporate and private collections. Locally she is represented by Roy Boyd Gallery in Chicago.
In 2003 Sarah Krepp became founding and on-going director of DIALOGUE CHICAGO, an interdisciplinary critique/seminar that includes artists from painting to installation, performance, and time arts. She is the curator for Gallery 175, Chicago.
Sarah Krepp is Professor Emeritus of Art and former Chair of the Painting Program in the School of Art and Design at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has over 20 years of teaching experience at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Southern Illinois University, the Burren College of Art (Ballyvaughn, Ireland), as well as the University of Illinois.
