Artists ~ Help Revive the All Oregon Art Annual at the 2013 Oregon State Fair!

Greetings Oregon Artist(s) —

As you may know in the recent past the Oregon State Fair has faced some challenges. These challenges have affected the All Oregon Art Annual in a major way.

The All Oregon Art Annual is an important part of Oregon’s artistic and cultural history. It affords a unique venue for Oregon artists of all ages, mediums and skill levels to showcase their art. Many of us received our first recognition as artists at the Oregon State Fair.

A group of artists have committed to reviving the All Oregon Art Annual in 2013. We want to bring it back to what it once was — a showcase for art made in Oregon by Oregonians.

We have worked hard to plan for this year’s state fair. We have rewritten the competition handbook, recruited competent jurors in fine arts, photography, calligraphy and poetry. We are finishing up the space planning for our exhibit space in the Americraft Center at the Jackman-Long Building.

We invite you to participate in this revival. We want to reach out to artists all over Oregon and hope you will share this message wherever you can to encourage participation in 2013. Sleep Country USA is assisting this year by transporting entries from pick up points in Bend, Medford, Eugene and Portland for those artists unable to hand deliver their art pieces.

We also need many volunteers to make this a success. If you can help with taking in the artwork, gallery set up, hanging the show, staffing the gallery during the fair, doing a demo of your art or taking down the show when the fair is over, please contact us at [email protected] Each volunteer will receive a free admission ticket to the fair for each four hour shift of work.

Please find more information and download the competition handbook at www.

For questions about fine art, photography, calligraphy or poetry e-mail [email protected]

Please share this information with any Oregon artists, arts groups, galleries and art associations. We want to get the word out.

We hope to see you at the fair. Things look different this year!
