On Mother’s Day weekend downtown Medford will host its 11th annual Art In Bloom in celebration of fine arts, flowers, local wine and food. Art in Bloom is a spectacular springtime festival showcasing fine artists from the west coast. The event features live music, art, wine tasting, food, and floral workshops for adults, children’s art activities, a fashion show, cash awards for artists, and more. Spanning from 6th-8th St. and from Riverside to Front, and continuing down Central in front of the Craterian, this year’s festival will offer more activities than it ever has before.

Approximately 120 artists and horticulturists have been selected to exhibit and sell their work during the two-day festival. Revenue generated will fund future Art in Bloom events and help support youth art education programs. There will be additional children’s activities at the Festival this year including dancers, Annie the Clown, face painting, a jump-house, buckaroo bootcamp with animals, organic kids clothing for sale, art & crafts projects, presentations by Wildlife Images with some terrific animals, real-time mural painting, and more!

Art education is one of the chief goals of Art in Bloom, and over the years the non-profit organization has funded art projects at North High, South High, Phoenix High and Medford Independent School. In the present economy school budgets have been forced to cut programs like art. Art in Bloom was able to provide funding for art projects within Medford schools last year in their time of need. This year Art in Bloom will feature a Young Artist Showcase from local school’s “Best of the Best” art show sponsored by the Medford Arts Commission. A People’s Choice award will be given to the winning student. If you would like to make a donation to support art education in local schools and Art in Bloom please visit or mail a check to P.O. Box 5645, Central Point, OR 97502.
