Hanson Howard Gallery
Claire Duncan, Christian Burchard, Kristy Kun
This month’s exhibition at Hanson Howard Gallery features graceful paintings by Claire Duncan, elegant wood sculptures by Christian Burchard, and rich fiber sculptures by Kristy Kun. Claire’s current work responds to questions about what it means to be human at a time when our very own actions threaten the very nature that inspires us. Alternatively, Christian and Kristy’s work is very process-driven. The collaboration started with a wooden disk abandoned in a corner of Christian’s workshop. Once steamed and re-formed, it became a perfect container for Kristy’s felt forms, resulting in a fossil-like and elegant synthesis of form and texture.
