A Warm Welcome to Fiber Artist Jo Ann Manzone

Jo Ann Manzone, Fiber ArtistJo Ann Manzone’s love of fiber art began at age ten when she learned how to knit and sew. Her mother and grandmother were talented and patient teachers of these special crafts.

Over the years, Jo Ann has pursued her passion for fiber art by seeking new ways to utilize her felting, handknitting, crochet and weaving skills to create fabric, which she transforms into clothing and accessories. Her newest work includes needle felted memory caches and nuno felted habotai silk scarves and wraps.

A New Jersey native, JoAnn now lives in Ashland, Oregon where she has been designing wearable art and accessories for local boutiques and galleries. She has a studio space at the Ashland Art Center where she creates and teaches.

“Experimenting with different fibers, I love to create unique wearable art.  I incorporate knitting, weaving and felting techniques to design individual pieces rich in color and texture.

Culture and creativity abound in the small town of Ashland, Oregon, where I live and keep my studio.   Nestled in the Rogue Valley and surrounded by the Siskiyou and Cascade Mountain ranges, I am inspired to create Nuno felted, hand-knit and hand-woven clothing and accessories.

My pieces are made from a combination of new and recaptured materials as I love to give new life to recycled fibers.”

We are delighted to welcome Jo Ann and her Dreamweaving Designs to the Wearable Art and Fiber Artists categories of the Lifestyle Artist directories at the Southern Oregon Artists Resource! Please help us welcome her by sharing and commenting on this post or viewing and sharing her listing. Also note that we have syndicated Jo Ann’s blog, so her posts will add to the community stream of artist posts here at Art Matters!
