Curtis Salgado

On February 15th award winning Blues phenomenon Curtis Salgado will be singing up a storm to benefit the Grants Pass Museum of Art in Grants Pass, Oregon by performing at Black, White & the Blues.  Those attending the BWB event will enjoy an auction of original paintings and sculpture from local artists followed by dancing the night away to the rhythms of Curtis Salgado and his Band.

Those who follow Curtis will be pleased to know he is once again the recipient of the Blues Music Award for Soul Blues Artist of the Year.  Blues Revue says, “Salgado is one of the most down-to-earth, soulful honest singers ever, and his harmonica is smoking and thoroughly invigorating, rollicking, funky and electrifying”.

Those who are not familiar with Mr. Salgado may be interested to learn that back in 1977, while filming Animal House, actor John Belushi caught one of Curtis’ shows, became a friend, and was inspired to create the Blues Brothers skit for Saturday Night Live.

Black, White & the Blues is now in its 27th year raising money for the Grants Pass Museum of Art and helping fund art exhibits, educational programs for children and adults, and hosting artist talks and First Friday Art Nights.

If you are interested in an evening of amazing music, great food, a no-host bar and live and silent art auctions you should consider attending the Black, White & the Blues event. You can reach the Museum through its website or by calling 541.479.3290 to inquire about tickets.
