Bandon photographer Wanda Young believes photography should be fun. So she organized a photography contest and exhibit for the 2011 Bandon Cranberry Festival. Amateur photographers displayed their work alongside the pros for an colorful showcase at Bandon Harbortown Event Center.
“I wanted to emphasize how many amazing photographers we have in the area and how supportive they are of each other,” said Young. The turn-out exceeded her expectations, with almost 100 contest entries and more than 200 votes for the people’s choice award.
Showcased here: “Autumn Leaf” by Anetta Adams, Grand Prize Adult Advanced; “A Bird’s Eye View” by Jackie Lawrence, Best of Show; “NASA Horsepower” by Frank Murray and “Beeing Lavender” by Kathe Murray, tie for Adult Novice; “Let Freedom Rain 1 & 2” by Charles Wales, Grand Prize and First Place Bandon Theme.
