Rogue Gallery & Art Center's 2013 Artist Teen Mentoring Project Exhibition

The Rogue Gallery & Art Center is pleased to present artwork by inspired local fifth graders and very talented teen artists this month! The Community Gallery is filled with over 100, colorful, mixed-media “Chromarrific” paintings created by three fifth grade classes from Jackson and Kennedy Elementary Schools as part of the Rogue Gallery & Art Center’s Elementary Arts Outreach program. Opening during Medford’s Third Friday on April 19th, and on display from April 19th through May 3rd is the Artist Teen Mentoring Project exhibit which will feature a variety of inspirational art by teens and their professional artist mentors.

Mary Goodson, Water versus Earth

(Medford, OR) – March 6, 2013– High Fiber Diet, a Northwest-based fiber artists’ group affiliated with the Columbia FiberArts Guild of Portland, presents textile works as part of the Rogue Gallery & Art Center’s 2013 Main Gallery exhibition series. The Elements: Air, Earth, Fire and Water exhibit features wall hangings, mostly artistic quilts, as well as felted and wearable art. The artwork demonstrates innovative techniques, superb craftsmanship, original design, and a unique artistic vision. Each fiber artist has created a window into the natural world influenced by the four elements: earth, air, water or fire.

It’s a Rogue Thing: Bringing Climate Concerns Home (with Art!)

Rogue Climate Art Event

On February 17, The Southern Oregon Climate Action Network (SOCAN) will host It’s a Rogue Thing: Bringing Climate Concerns Home, an event aiming to connect communities across the valley and creatively address the challenges of our changing climate. This exhibition spotlights the creativity of Bob Bosworth—artist, architect, former University of Oregon professor, and a founder of the Rogue Gallery & Art Center. Curated by Nancy Jo Mullen, the display features architectural drawings and paintings from Bosworth’s early professional years as well as a series of recently created paintings on paper. This show sheds light on the dynamic career of a highly inventive Rogue Valley artist and architect. RECEPTION: This FRIDAY, Oct. 19, 5:00–7:00PM; at 7:00PM, “An Architect’s Architect” Illustrated talk that surveys the local architecture projects by Bosworth presented by architect John David Duffié. Free to the public.

The Rogue Gallery & Art Center—southern Oregon’s premier non-profit community art center—will host the “Spirit in Hand” Holiday Boutique November 16-December 22, 2012. This is a juried show and sale of hand-crafted, one-of-a-kind gift items including fiber & wearables; pottery & ceramics; glass, metal & woodwork; jewelry; leatherwork; mixed media and upcycled & repurposed items; candles; and body care products will be considered. Small framed artwork (no larger than 12” in any direction) will also be considered.

ARTrageous Benefit Auction: Rogue Gallery & Art Center celebrates its 5Oth Anniversary Auction

The Rogue Gallery & Art Center (RGAC) is hosting its 50th Annual Benefit Auction and Dinner on Saturday, September 29, 2012. This evening of fun and fantastic food from local farms will take place at Kids Unlimited in Medford, Oregon beginning at 5PM. All proceeds raised will support visual arts education for all ages and art exhibitions for artists in the Rogue Valley and beyond. This year’s auction theme, Farm + Fork & Art, will feature a locally sourced seasonal dinner by Figgy’s Food Truck, wine by Weisinger’s of Ashland, and bluegrass music by Foxfire Trio. Each table will be decorated by a local artist who will create a unique centerpiece.
