Tuesdays, February 7th 10:30-11:30 AM and March 6th 10:30-11:30 AM

$10 per day—introductory price!

This is an interactive art class for parent and young child. As a team, the parent/caregiver and child will make art together, learning about color, shapes, and lines helping to develop your child’s imagination while strengthening fine-motor skills and hand-eye coordination.  Be prepared to get a little messy, paint, sculpt, print, draw, make crafts and to learn songs and finger plays to enhance each project.

Ted Helard will teach Cartooning & Maquettes for Beginners Saturday mornings in February at the Rogue Gallery & Art Center!

For youth ages 6-12 (Also offering Visual Storytelling through Cartoon & Comics for ages 13 and up in March!!)

Learn to construct creative and unique comics with the basic concepts of cartooning through the manipulation of three basic 3D shapes: the sphere, the cube, and the cylinder. Participants will learn to transform these shapes into simple cartoon figures and characters, ready to be brought to life by young artists’ stories, expression, and creativity!

For children in grades 1 – 6:

Wednesdays 2 to 5PM (Corresponds with Medford School District’s early-release Wednesdays)

Paint, draw, sculpt, print, explore, create, and be inspired by introductory art lessons in our spacious & fully-equipped art studio!

RGAC is now hiring Summer Art Camp Instructors

The Rogue Gallery & Art Center (RGAC) is looking for creative, imaginative, enthusiastic, and inspirational art instructors to teach our 2012 Summer Art Camps. RGAC will be offering 10 weeks of camps (each camp session will run for four days, three hours per day), from June 19 — August 31. The ages of youth vary but generally are ages 6-12 (proposals for teen art camps and ages 3-6 may be considered).  Instructors are usually hired to teach one — three sessions of camp. Our vision: Ignite the Mind, Stir the Soul, Open the Heart… Boldly Create!

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in art, education or related field preferred. Experience working with youth is mandatory! Successful candidates should have experience developing and implementing fun and engaging hands-on activities. A background check is required. Please note that these are highly competitive positions.
