The Gallery offers local artists an opportunity to display their work, and because of its non-profit status can display a wide range of artistic styles and mediums not seen in commercial galleries. Aspiring artists, both children and adults, take classes from local artists and are exposed to a wide variety of artistic mediums. Our mission is to promote and provide for the study, development, exhibition, and appreciation of art. Our vision: Ignite the Mind, Stir the Soul, Open the Heart…Boldly Create! Learn more with web links and contact info in RGAC's listing at SOAR. As part of our mission to nurture and promote the visual arts in the region, the Rogue Gallery & Art Center is presenting a Visual Art Studio Tour (VAST). Artists with studios located in Medford, Oregon will open their doors to art-interested visitors during this unique weekend event. Maps of participating artists’ studio locations will be available at the Rogue Gallery & Art center and online at www.roguegallery.org in late May. The VAST event will bring exposure to Medford’s artistic community, build awareness of visual artists and their working processes and stimulate and grow the arts community throughout the Rogue Valley. Her artistic work draws on anatomical, etymological, botanical and electronic elements to create “fictional but plausible unions of biological and man-made structures on canvas.” Find links to her website on gallery shop as well as contact information in her listing at the Southern Oregon Artists Resource My very first visit to Liquid Assets consisted of delicious bacon wrapped dates, a lovely 12 year scotch and artwork by noticeably talented artists…Curator Marsa Morse, who follows museum guidelines and standards, has an excellent eye for picking original, intriguing paintings and photographs which perfectly complement the space. I am honored to be part of her selection for the months of May and June! Please join me this Friday, May 4th during Ashland Artwalk from 5-8pm to see the newest paintings from my body of work “Artificial Plant Form”. By Katy Cauker, 24 contributed posts About the author: I paint in an effort to give solid form to feelings and ideas that increase the depth of my experiences in the process of living. American Modernists and their quest to discover a history of art particular to the country they lived in connect me in my personal exploration with European impressionist and post-impressionist artists. I strive to continue their work and further my own understanding of how art concurrently creates and connects us to our culture. This watercolor is available through the Coos Art Museum’s Rental Sales gallery. www.coosart.org I particularly enjoy working with watercolors on location because of their flowing spontaneous nature and rich color. The paintings become visual memories that remind me of the day and friends I was with. A more personal memento than photographs, holding in each brushstroke and color choice a bit of the emotions and pleasures of the day.
