LIFE DRAWING OPEN STUDIO

Every first and third Fridays, Life Drawing Open Studio

November 4 & 18, December 2 & 16: 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM

40 South Bartlett Street, Medford, Oregon

No pre-registration required!

Join other artists for two hours of uninstructed figure drawing from a live model. Warm up with short poses then stretch your creative muscles with a series of longer 20 minute poses.

Participants should bring their own materials, although there are plenty of easels, drawing boards, tables, and chairs available.

$10 members, $15 non-members

Though the textures and innovative rendering of the human form Dawn creates demonstrate the amazing ability of the senses to compensate for each other, it’s more than just her observant eyes and sensitive hands at work – her intuitive sense, sharpened by earnest spiritual seeking through the direct experience of many cultures, has forged a unique way of interpreting human relationships and an equally unique approach to expressing her observations in creative form. One can see various deaf communication signs incorporated into most of Dawn’s designs, and if you’re one who understands sign language, you’ll find a message in each one.

A published writer and teacher, Kathleen Meagher moved to Ashland in 2003 after a long career as a Jungian Analyst, to commit herself to a writing life. Her passion for nature and its intersection with the ethical and social concerns in our world is a major voice in her poems. She has published two books of poetry and a Chapbook and contributed to several collections.   She is also a practicing Buddhist.
