SOAR was created and is maintained by art advocate and web designer Hannah West in Jacksonville, Oregon to promote our diverse and talented arts community to our visitors and the rest of the world. This year during the Art in Bloom Festival, the Rogue Gallery & Art Center opens Eugene Bennett: A Life in Art, an exhibition featuring the art of one of the Rogue Valley’s most loved artists, an influential teacher, and a founder of the Rogue Gallery & Art Center. Numerous works on display were held in the artist’s personal collection and have never before been offered to the public. The public is invited to attend a free RECEPTION held on Friday, May 18 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm during Third Friday in Downtown Medford. During the Art In Bloom festival weekend, the RGAC will host a Community Mural Project inspired by Eugene Bennett’s creativity and using his art materials. This free art activity invites community members of all ages to create an original collage to be part of a larger mural on display at the Rogue Gallery & Art Center later this year.
